Parents/guardians will be called immediately if their child is in psychiatric crisis. As mandated by ISBE regulations, students that present with acute signs and symptoms of psychiatric distress will be referred for an evaluation, and if deemed appropriate, receive more intensive treatment. Britten School requires documentation that a psychiatric evaluation has occurred. Unfortunately, Britten School cannot assume financial liability for transportation or emergency-room costs.
