Britten School operates on a modified school calendar. During the standard school year, school holidays and traditional vacation breaks are observed (see Britten School Calendar). The extended school year (June through August) follows the same school hours as the regular school year. The summer academic curriculum is varied and designed to meet both the remedial and enrichment needs of the students. Group Therapy services remain intact during the summer months. Oftentimes the students are involved in field trips, outdoor activities, or a week-long soccer camp, providing an opportunity for personal growth, practice, and reinforcement of academic and social skills developed during the regular school year. High school students are involved with community integration and vocationally focused activities. All Britten School classrooms are air-conditioned for the comfort and health of both students and faculty.
